Focus on joint energy-insurance offers

The President of the Regulatory Authority for Electricity Gas and Water (AEEGSI), Guido Bortoni, and the President of the Institution for the supervision of insurance (IVASS), Salvatore Rossi, have signed a
Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen mutual co-operation in the field of consumer protection in the regulated sectors.
The Protocol provides for closer inter-institutional co-operation between the two Authorities co-ordinating and developing the interventions against the operators in order to strengthen their effectiveness, efficiency and overall consistency.
Particular attention will be paid to the exchange of information, to each other's reports of violations of the norms by supervised operators and joint supervision of the commercial offers that combine the supply of energy or water services with insurance products.
To promote the implementation of the
Memorandum of Understanding and ensure the broadest levels of consumer protection, a permanent working group will be set up.
